Aarhus Karlhamn (AAK) is a seed oil processing plant located in a port city in Denmark. Since 2006, all smelly air from the extraction process has been successfully deodorized using an Aerox Injector.
Initially, AAK built an 80-meter-high chimney. This measure proved insufficient to resolve the odor complaints of local residents. After consulting with Aerox, an Aerox Injector with sufficient plasma capacity was selected. Odor measurements showed that the required odor reduction was more than achieved.
The plasma output of the Aerox injector in the coastal city of Aarhus is controlled by a digital wind vane that measures wind direction and wind speed. As long as the wind from the plant blows towards the sea and not towards the city of Aarhus, energy can be saved by operating the Aerox injector at a lower plasma output, or even shutting it down completely. AAK has repeatedly reported that their expectations are being met; they have no further odor complaints and are satisfied with the service provided by Aerox.
